Tell us a little bit about your background. Where are you from?

I’m originally from a small town in Brazil and at 17, I moved to the US with my parents. I studied Journalism and Spanish at Indiana University, which allowed me to spend a year in Madrid.

Following that, I lived in New York City for eight years, working in PR at a few agencies as well as at ESPN and FiveThirtyEight. In 2017, I moved to London with my husband. Prior to joining The Lovies, I led Quartz’s PR efforts in EMEA.

You’ve lived in London for a couple of years now. What do you love most about the city?

I love the traditional pubs, and the diversity of cultures and accents you find here. Also the ease to travel outside the city and the country.

What 2018 Lovie-winning work(s) do you love? And why?

VICE UK’s “How to become TripAdvisor’s #1 Fake Restaurant” was absolutely brilliant. As someone who loves to read and write restaurants reviews and constantly struggles with FOMO, I am not proud to say I would have fallen for that.

What app or website can you not live without?

Netflix and Spotify. I listen to music and podcasts throughout the entire day. And who doesn’t love to binge on a great TV series?

Inbox zero: yes or no?

In an ideal world, yes. With the incredible amount of unique newsletters out there, however, it’s nearly impossible.

Anything else you’d like people to know about you?

My first name is actually two words, Ana Livia. In Brazil, a lot of names start with Ana or Maria – including my cousins’, all with Ana in their names – so just Ana would be incomplete. It’s pronounced Ah-na, and Livia is just Olivia without the O.
